Our Goals
This campaign is focused on bringing the right minds, the critical tools, and the necessary resources together to solving Berrien county's biggest issues. In the current political climate, there has been too much emphasis on personality, partisanship, and rhetoric that ultimately inhibits actual progress. But we are dedicated to getting the job done and making Berrien County the best place to live and grow.
Public Transportation Access
Improving our Public Transportation System- Working with the City of St. Joseph, City of BH, SJ Charter Twp., and TCATA to identify, plan, and execute ways to make public transportation more accessible and enjoyable. Also, continuing to work on our public transit projects(roads, speed studies, etc.) in the Twin Cities area.
Juvenile Justice
Juvenile Justice- Working with County Administration(Courts, Sherrif’s Dept., Mental Health Authority) to ensure that we are offering the best services when it comes to juvenile detention, mental health services, and criminal justice, and enduring that we are applying the best practices to reduce recidivism and rehabilitate those who struggle with crime, poverty and mental health illnesses.
Intergovernmental Collaboration
Working to improve the county’s partnership with municipal government and with the State legislature. It is imperative that we foster good relationships with the different levels of government. By doing so, it makes advocacy for funding and policies that help the community, and assistance with different community projects, such as addressing traffic congestion at Silver Beach, much easier.
Resposible Fiscal Management
As a County Board of Commissioners, it is our goal to remain good stewards of the taxpayer dollars we receive. Making sound decisions on investments, funding for county infrastructure, maintaining safe facilities, and allocating funds towards county needs is top priority.
